Andrew A. Rothschild

Mr. Rothschild was born in Columbus, Georgia and graduated from the Brookstone School. After graduating from high school, Mr. Rothschild attended the University of Georgia, Athens, Georgia, and graduated in 1994 with Bachelors degrees in both history and religion. After graduating from the University of Georgia, Mr. Rothschild was accepted to the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University and graduated in May of 2000. Mr. Rothschild also studied law at University College, Oxford, England, for a semester abroad in 1998 through the Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.

Mr. Rothschild is a partner in the firm of Rothschild and Rothschild, PC. He is a general practitioner and handles a broad range of civil litigation matters and non-litigation matters. In the litigation area, Mr. Rothschild handles a significant number of personal injury cases for injured plaintiffs. Mr. Rothschild has successfully resolved hundreds of personal injury cases on behalf of injured clients with exceptional results. Mr. Rothschild also handles insurance defense litigation for insurance companies and their insureds and he is adept at business litigation, contract litigation, property tax litigation, probate court litigation, and litigation for and against governmental entities. Mr. Rothschild is also experienced in representation of closely-held business entities and has significant probate experience, including will drafting and trust drafting, probating wills, and administration of estates. Mr. Rothschild is also experienced in handling guardianships and conservatorships for both adults and minors.

Mr. Rothschild is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Alabama State Bar, and the bars of the United States District Courts for the Middle and Northern Districts of Georgia, and for the Middle District of Alabama.

Jerome M. Rothschild
(1939 -2021)

Mr. Rothschild was born in Columbus, Georgia on April 4, 1939. He attended Columbus public schools and completed his high school education in 1957, graduating from Valley Forge Military Academy in Wayne, Pennsylvania. Mr. Rothschild attended the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia, and graduated June 4, 1961, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. Mr. Rothschild was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. After graduation from college, Mr. Rothschild served two years in the United States Army as a field artillery officer. After active duty, he continued as a reserve officer and finished his reserve service with the rank of captain.

Mr. Rothschild commenced his legal education at the University of Virginia Law School in September, 1963, immediately upon separation from active duty with the United States Army, and graduated with the Bachelor of Laws degree (L.L.B.) on June 5, 1966. After law school, Mr. Rothschild accepted a two-year appointment as law clerk to Judge Austin Hoyt of the Tax Court of the United States, now the United States Tax Court. After two years in Washington as Judge Hoyt’s law clerk, Mr. Rothschild returned to Columbus, Georgia to engage in general civil practice with the law firm then known as Kelly, Champion and Henson.

Mr. Rothschild then practiced law in Columbus, Georgia, engaging in a general civil litigation practice, until January, 1976, when he took a sabbatical to further his legal education in Australia at the University of Melbourne Law School, Melbourne, Victoria, Australila. In the spring of 1977 (Autumn in Australia), Mr. Rothschild was awarded the degree of Bachelor of Laws with Honors from the University of Melbourne Law School.

Since returning from Australia in March, 1977, Mr. Rothschild has continuously engaged in the active practice of law as a partner in the firm now known as Rothschild & Rothschild, P.C.. His principal areas of expertise are civil litigation and civil procedure matters, health care law, business organizations and their sale and acquisitions, and estate planning and administration matters.

Mr. Rothschild is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the bars of the United States District Courts for the Middle District of Georgia and the District of Columbia; the United States Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits and the District of Columbia Circuit; and the Supreme Court of the United States. He is a member of the Georgia and American Academies of Hospital Attorneys, and of the American Bar Association.
